The 2022 Shiraz Hoffmann DV Ebenezer SV902 from the highly regarded Hoffmann vineyard offers both power and subtlety. Rich chocolate and blackberry fruits are lifted by wafts of savory cinnamon. A powerful wave of flavor begins before gravelly tannins swoop in and tighten the finish. Strong overall drive and length will see this wine kick on for at least a decade. • Vineyard Notes

The grapes for the Hoffmann DV (Dimchurch Vineyard) single vineyard wine are sourced from the renowned Dallwitz Block, which was largely planted between 1888 and 1912, and more specifically rows 25-30 of the “younger” 70+ year old vines. Depending on the vintage conditions generally between 800 and 2,400 bottles are produced.

  • Winemaking

The grapes were fermented in small batches and after fermentation was matured in 50% new French oak for 20 months prior to bottling. Minimal intervention is used in the winemaking process and the wine is moved the minimal times prior to bottling and is not cold stabilised or filtered.
